Measurement and payment notes

  • Acceptance authority: All measurements, tests, and approvals to be certified by the Engineer‑in‑charge.
  • Payment basis: Items paid on measured quantities or lump sum as specified; mobilization/cleaning payments to be proportionate to overall contract progress and based on ground area as determined by the Engineer‑in‑charge.
  • Excluded items: Unless explicitly stated, rates exclude reinforcement fabrication/placing, shuttering (where noted), laboratory test fees, and specialized temporary works. These must be priced separately or clarified in the tender.

Quality, testing and standards

  • Concrete: Nominal mixes and specified compressive strengths to comply with ACI / BNBC; cement BDS EN‑197‑1‑CEM‑I, 52.5N.
  • Aggregates & sand: Sand F.M. and grading as specified; stone chips to ASTM C‑33.
  • Rebar: Grade 400 complying with BDS ISO 6935‑2:2016 / ASTM A615; supply certificates and mill test reports.
  • Steel plates: ASTM A36; provide test certificates and apply primer as specified.
  • Testing: Contractor to carry out standard tests (slump, compressive strength, proctor, aggregate gradings) and submit reports; laboratory fees excluded unless stated.

Safety, environment, and disposal

  • Site safety: Contractor to maintain a safe working environment, provide PPE, barricading, signage, and traffic management.
  • Debris & spoil: Stockpile and dispose at Engineer‑approved location within 30 km; include loading/unloading, leveling at disposal site.
  • Environmental controls: Dust suppression, silt control, and proper handling of waste materials to comply with local regulations.
